How to Clean Women’s Wig with the Unit On

You need to clean your wig unit at least once every two weeks with warm or cold water as well as right after swimming to prevent dirt accumulation that may lead to tangles.

Though it is best to wash the hair wig with the unit removed because of possible premature slippage, you also need to learn how to clean it with the unit on. You will need to secure spray bottle and wig brush or large tooth comb as well as wig moisturizing shampoo and conditioner.

First, dilute shampoo with water in a 1:1 ratio then put it into a spray bottle and spray onto scalp. Then press and slide the shampoo into the wig from the roots to the tips using comb or brush. After the evenly spread shampooing, press the hair strands with your palms and squeeze the shampoo through the ends.

Keep in mind that rubbing and ruffling can result to tangles. Rinse with lukewarm water by leaning backwards with the hair flowing in the direction of the shower water. Do the same with the conditioner but leave it for 3-5 minutes before rinsing. Remember that you should not use conditioners near the attachment site as adhesive may detach prematurely.
